Seems like it could have been so much better.

Your artwork is very clean, but some of your proportion is really unfortunate. Excellent woek on the characters and a few of the effects like the pillars exploding.

You really seemed to be lacking in the music/sound/and voice department though. The audio for this was really really nonexistent. The only audio I heard were a couple of looped impacts, some simple explosions, and a gunshot ricochet.

You're doing great, and I don't want to downplay how good your artwork is in general. You have some work to do, and I'd really suggest teaming up with someone to do the audio while you do the artwork. Other than that, great work, Peace

Huh?

I'm afraid I don't understand your animation. It's really well drawn and animated, but I can't see the point in it? You really need a lot more in the authors comments or something...

You're off to a good start

This is definately good work in the sense that I can tell you've learned a LOT of the flash program itself. Your timing is good, you make excellent use of the soften shapes tool and frame actions etc. I was impressed by that for sure. The problems you face are more to do with your polish. The characters are VERY reminiscent of Dragon Ball Z, something which you lose points for in my eyes, but likely gain points for in the eyes of others. More importantly though, your anatomy is attrocious, study an anatomy book, it will REALLY help with your art. Second, you have very little actual animation in the clip, most of it is anime shorthand, which is tollerable, but a few short sequences of carefully animated combat would have been helpful to your overall score. A good sequence is one that lasts for over a second without repeating the same frame at all.

Don't take this review as a criticizm, because I think you've done great on this flash, and it looks a lot better than some of mine. Also, you would probably do even better with a $150 waccom graphire or a $150 9x12 Aiptek drawing tablet. Smaller Aiptek's are even cheaper.

Good luck on your next flash! Practice Practice Practice!

PS: try not to use pop music as the background for an anime, I think it detracts from the overall quality. It would be better to use audio from the portal which fits the scene.

Loved it man, No need for incredibly well done animations, like say, walking places, when you have a sense of humor. I loved how the characters rose out of the floor or dropped from the sky at random.

Nicely done

Absolutely superb. The lack of actual drawings was more than made up for by the well paced story and excellent animation. Voice acting wasn't bad at all, though the last "Who the hell are you?" didn't come off as very convincing. Very typical anime character roles, but they work well, that's why they're so common. Looking forward to your next flash.

Absa Frikin Lutely Awesome

I have to say, this made me and my wife laugh excessively. This is SO true about Dragon Ball Z. I can't begin to thank you for this..

At any rate. 5/5, enjoy your fun. Hope you get front page!

Hmmm...

Since it was a Frame by Frame--and your first at that--I scored on the high side. You're obviously headed in the right direction. Especially if this was your first "stab" at flash. I can tell there were a lot of frames in this animation despite it's short length.

Translated?

I'm wondering if you had the two sentences translated to English from another language. Because even though the flash was decent (a little short and lacking sound, color, shading, etc.) the (poetic?) sentences you typed up there made no sense and had some serious spelling errors. Otherwise, if I knew what your message was, it would have been better. Good try. Keep it up.

Very well done

Excellent. Absolutely beautiful. Just one criticism: Looks like you got tired in some areas. You worked hard and that's obvious, but I think you needed more rest and relaxation between shots. Some of the animations were drawn beautifully and had serious shading, movement and depth. Others were lacking that polished look. Still, I am thoroughly impressed and look forward to seeing the series. Don't leave me hanging--you can't give up on this.

Gate-keeper-girl responds:

Thank you! Yesh. I was very sick for most of the summer, and I did get tired. I should have the actual series out by January, if schoolwork doesn't take up too much time. I will definetly take your advice, and rest between scenes.

Thank you for the kind reveiw. ^_^ <3

Interesting

It was short but had it's own flavor. Keep it up. And you don't need me to tell you that courtesy is rare and often only offered by the mature.
