You're off to a good start

This is definately good work in the sense that I can tell you've learned a LOT of the flash program itself. Your timing is good, you make excellent use of the soften shapes tool and frame actions etc. I was impressed by that for sure. The problems you face are more to do with your polish. The characters are VERY reminiscent of Dragon Ball Z, something which you lose points for in my eyes, but likely gain points for in the eyes of others. More importantly though, your anatomy is attrocious, study an anatomy book, it will REALLY help with your art. Second, you have very little actual animation in the clip, most of it is anime shorthand, which is tollerable, but a few short sequences of carefully animated combat would have been helpful to your overall score. A good sequence is one that lasts for over a second without repeating the same frame at all.

Don't take this review as a criticizm, because I think you've done great on this flash, and it looks a lot better than some of mine. Also, you would probably do even better with a $150 waccom graphire or a $150 9x12 Aiptek drawing tablet. Smaller Aiptek's are even cheaper.

PS: try not to use pop music as the background for an anime, I think it detracts from the overall quality. It would be better to use audio from the portal which fits the scene.

Very well done

Excellent. Absolutely beautiful. Just one criticism: Looks like you got tired in some areas. You worked hard and that's obvious, but I think you needed more rest and relaxation between shots. Some of the animations were drawn beautifully and had serious shading, movement and depth. Others were lacking that polished look. Still, I am thoroughly impressed and look forward to seeing the series. Don't leave me hanging--you can't give up on this.

Thank you! Yesh. I was very sick for most of the summer, and I did get tired. I should have the actual series out by January, if schoolwork doesn't take up too much time. I will definetly take your advice, and rest between scenes.

Glad you're practicing....

Having stock artwork to work with that someone else has created for you is really handy for practice, but I rarely ever give someone much in the way of a high score for making something out of someone else's hard work. This flash was... to say the least, boring.. It was the same 5 seconds repeated some 500 times.. Robot walks on screen, player robot kills robot.. lather rinse repeat etc.

If you want to impress anyone on NG, you should draw the characters yourself, and go ahead and give a little more thought to making them actual characters. You will draw a lot more viewers in with a story than you will with masses of unnecessary and directionless violence.

Keep practicing. Your explosions at least showed some effort, so props for those.

Great but slow

You are an excellent artist and I can see that you're developing skills in flash (I haven't exactly posted much skillful stuff myself) but the flash is slow. Seems to me that you are perhaps a bit impatient and not filling in movements in between for smoothness. But perhaps that's all a part of your style. It's very different from a lot of other submissions but I would give if it were more smooth.

Nice, Very nice.

I guess some people don't appreciate the dry humor of frustration. Trevor's character's inability to deal with the utter confusing nature of Nick was quite well done and fun to watch. Props!

OK, I realise that you've done a great job on the animation and voice-syncing and etc.. but seriously, .. I mean, I know newgrounds is abounding in filth.. but .... -seriously-.. Do we really need a necropheliac cartoon series????? I was unamused ;p

Necrophiliac? In which part does he have sex with her? Roger's not a necrophiliac, he and Marge stopped having sex years before she died. Even we wouldn't be so sick as to include necrophilia in our toons.
